Link previews: pasted links unfurl into a preview card.
File attachments with drag-and-drop: drop files onto the chat to upload them.
Message grouping: consecutive messages from one person collapse together, and edited messages show an (edited) marker.
New-messages divider marks where you left off.
Navigation
Ctrl+K quick switcher: jump to any channel, Space or DM by typing.
Keyboard shortcuts for common actions.
Moderation
Kick, ban and timeout members.
Voice moderation: server-mute, server-deafen, move and disconnect members in voice.
Slow mode settings per channel.
Role-hierarchy protections: moderators can't act on anyone at or above their own role, and nobody can grant permissions they don't hold.
Security
A large security hardening pass across the gateway and web app. This includes closing a path where sign-up could set an account's role, plus tighter authorization checks throughout.
BROARchat 11.4
Server & installer
Windows installer: upgrade, repair and reconfigure over an existing install now work correctly and keep your data.
Installer prerequisites fail loudly instead of silently, and the database password is handled safely.
Licensing moved to license.broarchat.com, and every client was repointed.
Store & account
Buying a license now creates a verified account at checkout and hands you to a guided install stepper in My Account.
Fixes
Music bot: fixed leaking download processes, cleaned up stale queues, and added a queue viewer.
BROARchat 11.3
Security release
Security
Rebuilt account security: every session uses a secure token, and the new Log out everywhere signs you out on every device at once.
Direct messages, Spaces and voice rooms are enforced server-side, so only members can see or join them.
Uploads are type- and size-checked, password-reset codes are rate-limited, and the server sends security headers.
The desktop app stores your login encrypted on your device.
Desktop app
Native Windows notifications and a taskbar unread badge, with message content kept off the lock screen.
The client installer is now named BROARchat-Client-Setup so it's clearly not the server.
Everything else
Violet is the new default theme. Blurple Classic is still available in Appearance settings.
Self-serve subscription cancellation, and a customer portal where you can see and move your servers.
Linux backup.sh / restore.sh, a real health check and /api/version.
An app-wide accessibility pass, push-to-talk wiring fixes, and an EULA in the Windows installer.
BROARchat 11.2
New
In-game overlay in the desktop app (paid tiers): see who's talking without alt-tabbing. Toggle it with Alt+B.
Discord-style invite links.
A first-login guided tour and a What's New popup after each update.
The desktop app updates itself automatically.
Improved
Space wallpapers consolidated into one consistent system.
BROARchat 11.1
Desktop app
The first Windows desktop client: hardware-accelerated 4K/60 screen share (native DXGI capture + NVENC H264), system-audio sharing, a global push-to-talk hotkey and a tray icon.
Platform
Chat, voice, video and screen share with the H264 / VP9 / AV1 codec picker, Spaces, roles, soundboard, music bot, voice changer, spatial audio and 17 themes.
Native Windows server installer (no Docker), plus the Linux Docker Compose package.
